GGIS: Transboundary Aquifers Modules

GGIS: Transboundary Aquifers Modules

IGRAC's Global Groundwater Information System (GGIS) Global Groundwater Information System (GGIS)

The Global Groundwater Information System (GGIS) is an interactive, web-based portal to groundwater-related information and knowledge. The main purpose of the system is to assist in collection and analysis of information on groundwater resources and its sharing among water experts, decision makers and public.

At this moment GGIS contains three modules/viewers dedicated to transboundary aquifers, namely:

  • TBA Map Module: contains all versions of Transboundary Aquifers of the World Map produced so far (with additional features and browsing functionality)
  • TWAP Module: contains outcomes of Transboundary Waters Assessment Programme (TWAP)
  • GGRETA Module: contains outcomes of the GGRETA project and a platform to assist collection, analysis and dissemination of groundwater data and info at the (transboundary) aquifers scale
